Tagging Guide

When tagging, ignore area restrictions (e.g., nature reserve or someone's yard). Just tag it as usual and leave a comment if there's an issue.

Tag selection may vary depending on factors like landings, distance to parking, rock quality, or height. For example, a sharp, tall boulder with a rough landing might be worse than small sandstone boulder.

The section below describes how each tag type should be used.

Trash
No one would be interested in climbing here. Too small or not steep. No usable holds.

Sometimes a boulder with no holds isn't trash. Someone might be able to climb it.

Potential
(Add an image)
Looks climbable. Has some height or visible holds.

If in doubt between Trash and Potential go for Potential

Good
(Add an image)
Climbable. Has a quality line or several decent ones.
Work in Progress
(Describe your progress)
Soon or currently being developed.

By default, assume the person wants to develop it themselves. Respect first ascents!

Opened
(Add topo name)
The spot has been opened and a topo exists (e.g., on 27crags).
